There are about four capsicum plants in my vegie garden, all from the same punnet of seedlings. One has only flowers, two are throwing fruit that all look like chillis (without the heat), and one is producing standard capsicums like you’d see in the shops.
Such havoc a single possum can wreak in a single night. From this:
To this:
It didn’t even eat much; it just tore off the top branches, took a couple of bites out of a capsicum, and then left them in favour of demolishing the tomato seedlings.
The first (second, third) capsicums on the biggest of the lipstick capsicum plants I have growing in containers. This is the first time I’ve grown them, so I thought smaller ones would have a better chance of making it to an edible state than large supermarket-type capsicums… so far, so good.
Permaculture: the creation of sustainable environments for humans, plants and animals.
Permaculture has long been a theoretical interest of mine. Only in the last couple of years has it been a practical experience; first through a Permaculture Design Certificate course, then an APT3 traineeship, and now projects of mine at home.
I also love taking photos. Many of the vegie photos up to August 2008 are from the organic wonderland that is Northey Street City Farm, but lately they're from my own garden.
